Jennifer
Lopez couldn't make up her mind about whether or not she wanted to wear
pants or a dress on Sunday at the Atelier Versace Haute Couture fashion
show in Paris, but the one thing she is certain about is her friendship
with Donatella Versace.
The "On the Floor" singer, 44, cozied up to the bronzed designer as they posed for photographers prior to the show.
Lopez was a vision in a strange
white pantsuit-style dress, which featured a sequined pant leg and a
hip-high slit with a double strapped buckle. She teamed the unique style
with a pair of platform heels, a set of silver cuffs, and earrings.
Donatella stepped out in a similar number for her big event, donning a
black suit with a sequined tuxedo stripe. Their monochromatic numbers
were the perfect pairing and showcased their yin and yang bond.
The duo's fashion friendship has
been years in the making and dates back to the days before either one
was a household name. In fact, the pair can thank each other for helping
launch their careers into superstardom.
Following her brother, Gianni
Versace's tragic death in 1997, Donatella took over the Italian fashion
house and put her stamp on the brand by designing Lopez's gown for the
Grammy Awards in 2000. The jungle print green dress, which featured a
plunging neckline, goes down as one of Lopez's most iconic looks ever.
The dress put Lopez on the map as a style icon and cemented Donatella's
status as a fashion force. To this day, the look is so synonymous with
Lopez's success as a pop star that she had it replicated into a leotard
for her "I Luh Ya Papi" music video this year.
Their friendship and fashion
partnership have clearly stood the test of time and it is no surprise
that Lopez continued to show her support for Donatella over the weekend.
The American Idol judge also seems to be enjoying her time in
the City of Light outside of her front row seating at Paris Fashion
Week. Earlier in the day, she stepped out in a low-key fur and jeans
ensemble as she strolled around the city with her children, twins Max
and Emme.
Lopez also posted a series of snaps on her Instagram account with the hashtags #AnAmericanInParis and #JLoVersace.
